hd imagery began in 2011 when I had been asked to take family photos as a favour! I was always seen as a creative and artistic person so they went out on a limb to hire me knowing I had no previous experience. This family session started a snowball effect where other people saw the work I did and asked me as well.
As for wedding photography, my career began when a coworker asked me to photograph her wedding. I will forever be indebted to her, she was so trusting in my abilities and encouraging as I learned. Thanks to her, I’ve photographed over 40 weddings now.
Newborns, events, families, couples, headshots, maternity photos, commercial shots, as well as some friend photography are all part of my norm now! So amazing!
About the Person Behind the Camera
-Organization comes naturally to me; I also enjoy it! -I could sit in a hammock all day. -I am a little OCD for organization, planning, and tidiness... -Crazy cat lady? That's me. But my fur baby is Diego! -I am a high-school art and geography teacher. -I want to travel the world. -Lemonade is my go-to treat! -I find pleasure in the details of things. -The more unique something is, the better. In all regards! -Old vintage items are the way to my soul. -Nostalgia is the best feeling in the world! -I am super passionate about inclusion. -I am gluten, peanut, yeast, msg, tomato, broccoli, orange free.. Slightly restricted, HA! -Water and mountains are my home. They instantly soothe. -I listen to very slow, mellow, acoustic, bluesy music. -Photography is my main creative outlet. Drawing and painting come next.
About My Style & Journey
Starting out with drawing and painting as my main medium, I applied to OCAD University for illustration and attended there for a few months before leaving to head to Western University for sociology. Quickly I realized that I was missing art and switched back into Visual Arts. At this point, I had a beginner DSLR to fiddle with as I tried to figure out functions, settings and technicals on my own. Next thing I know, I am enrolled in photography classes through Western and kicking some serious @$$ if I do say so myself! I had found my knack.
So now, I am still this young artist looking to create works of art through my main medium of photography. With an updated camera & gear, in-class & self taught education, and over 250 paid sessions under my belt.
